Libraries               

Most libraries have computers, books on CD, music, and movies.  They have activities for kids like story hours, reading clubs, arts and crafts, and more.  And they have passes and discounts for local attractions, museums, etc.  (And library cards are free!)  Here are some to check out:

ONGOING PROGRAMS FOR PROVIDENCE LIBRARY:

 

Lapsit Story Time – Fridays, 11-12pm, for ages birth to 18 months.  Join us for stories, songs, rhythm and rhyme all designed for you and your wee-one.

 

Cradle to Crayons – (ages 1-3)

We combine time for play and socialization with a story time that includes movement, songs, finger plays and wonderful children’s literature. Choose & Register for one session: Tuesday Session 1: 9:30–10:30 am, Tuesday Session 2: 10:30–11:30 am, Friday, Session 1: 9:30–10:30 am, Friday Session 2: 10:30–11:30 am (please be on time; doors open at start times only).

 

Tiny Tales for Preschoolers -

Ages 3 to 5 years, Tuesdays, 11:30 am.  Spend time with your preschooler learning and playing together.  We’ll finish the hour with great stories, movement and songs.  

 

Drop-in Pajama Story Time – Ages 4 to 8 years, Thursdays, 6:30pm. Come in your comfy, cozy PJs and enjoy a quiet story time with books

and songs!  Ages 3 to 5 years, Saturdays, 10:30am.  Enjoy great stories, songs and finger plays!  All programs run in 8-week sessions from September to June 18. The Library also offers a full Summer Reading Program beginning in June. Call 455-8025 for details. From November – May, the Library offers Family Learning Sundays – interactive learning program focusing on various topics including science, music, nature, art and dance. Programs are designed for the family and aimed at children ages 5 – 8 with parents/caregivers, but siblings are generally welcome. Programs are at 2 pm.
